Purpose : In this study, we synthesized vinyl-HEMA-substituted polyphosphazene for using contact lens material with high oxygen transmissibility.
Methods : HEMA/vinyl-substituted polyphosphazene was synthesized by macromolecular substitution route. poly(dichlorophosphazene) was prepared by the ring-opening polymerization of phosphonitrillic chroride trimer, followed by Grignard reaction(CH2=CH-MgBr) with vinyl magnesium bromide and then by the reaction with HEMA(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate).
Results : Results of analyse 1H-NMR spectrum, we confirmed vinyl-HEMAsubstituted polyphosphazene can be polymerized.
Conclusions : Suggesting that the copolymer can be used as a contact lens material with high oxygen transmissibility.
